Cyprus-China Business Association and CCCI Launch Essay Competition

The Cyprus - China Business Association and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry are announcing an Essay Competition with the title:

What further actions should be undertaken by Cyprus in order to benefit from the “One Belt One Road” initiative undertaken by China and attract investments from Chinese High Net Worth Individuals?


Explain the significance of “One Belt One Road” initiative for Chinese investments in Europe and how can Cyprus benefit from it. Per Capita China has more high net worth individuals than any other country in the world with high mobility. How do you think and/or suggest ways we can attract these high net worth individuals to Cyprus.

Terms and conditions

The competition is open to all students currently enrolled in a University in the Republic of Cyprus. The essay should not exceed the limit of 1500 words.

Only one essay per participant is allowed

Essays must be written in English

Essays should only be uploaded in pdf format and sent at or delivered in a sealed envelope at 3rd floor CCCI (38 Griva Dhigeni Str. and 3 Deligiorgi str.)

All essays must be submitted before 14.00 on 13 April 2017.


Essays will be subjected to a review by a Committee.

The Committee’s decision is Final.


1st prize is a trip to China (4 days, 3 nights including ticket and accommodation)

2nd prize is 500 euros

3rd prize is 300 euros
